Frame began working for Cregger three years ago when they began their Electrical Branch in Bluffton, South Carolina located on 41 Plantation Park Drive, Suite 100 in Bluffton South Carolina.

BMC Supply Company Donating Trusses, Windows, and Doors Towards our St. Jude Dream Home

When speaking with Jackie Allmond of BMC Supply Company on their participation with Village Park Homes’ St. Jude Dream Home, he stated that the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway is a wonderful thing and he has hopes the home will be given away to somebody who truly needs the home. BMC is donating the trusses, windows, and doors for our Dream Home and we are grateful for BMC’s time and materials. This is the third St. Jude Dream Home Allmond has assisted with and we hope that his love for the organization extends over into everybody who has been a part of our mission this year!

BMC employee Jackie Allmond studied electronics at Savannah Technical College. Laughingly Allmond admits, “I remember the first hand held calculator in school…but they didn’t let us use them. We had to use the slide rule.” After a few jobs in working with electronics, Allmond found himself working in homebuilding and supplying. In asking Allmond about his choice to pursue homebuilding as a career, he said, “most people don’t choose this industry, most of the time it chooses you. I could not have followed a better career path for myself.” Working for VNS, Almond began driving trucks, was later elected as a warehouse manager, and then moved into sales where he remained for a while.

Allmond worked for VNS Corporation for twenty-two years, a company selling turpentine, rosin, railroad ties, and lumber. About three years ago, Building Materials and Construction Services, BMC, bought out VNS and Allmond has since remained a respectable employee with a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Allmond lived in Savannah after receiving his degree, but later found himself in Statesboro, Georgia. While he loves the city of Savannah he finds that the slower farm town community of Statesboro is more appealing to him and the people spend more time visiting and talking. As a Lowcountry businessman, Almond comments that he loves how everywhere he goes, he sees somebody who he has worked for or with. He understands that business is about people and he loves the relationships he has made here in the south!

Village Park Homes is extremely grateful to BMC’s donations of Ply Gem Windows and Doors. Having BMC as an industry partner has been a pleasure and if you would like to learn more about BMC visit https://www.buildwithbmc.com/bmc/ and to contact Jackie Allmond email Jackie.allmond@buildwithbmc.com

In asking him about what may separate his company from his competitors, he said that he has a great drive to please his customers. He always follows through and has great consistency.

Moving forward, Watson is taking on a huge project in Texas this summer. He will be starting a 65-unit Town home community, as there is a great need for new homes in West Texas with the oil industry booming. His eagerness to succeed, grow, and assist his community in any way is apparent and Village Park Homes is extremely grateful for his company’s efforts in this mission to build a St. Jude Dream Home in Richmond Hill, Georgia.

‘Builder’s First Source’ Donating Towards Our Mission to Build a St. Jude Dream Home!

Builder’s First Source, a company that is “driven by the desire to provide professional class building materials and services to homebuilders and remodelers across the country” (About Us) is providing framing material for Village Park Homes’ St. Jude Dream Home in Richmond Hill, Georgia.

Steve Wipper of Builder’s First Source in Ridgeland, South Carolina believes that what separates this company from its competitors is that they buy in volume and quantity; they offer more services and supplies. Anywhere from manufacturing steel trusses and wall panels to distributing columns and cultured stone, Builder’s First Source is a company to be reckoned with and they currently have approximately four hundred locations in forty states.

Before being bought by Builder’s First Source, this building supplies and building materials company was originally Hilton Head Lumber, which then turned into the Pelican Building Center in 2005. The Pelican Building Center was later bought by BFS. While Builder’s First Source is a nationally recognized company, their love for the local community is still apparent as employees, such as Wipper, enjoy giving back. In a recent interview, Wipper mentioned that he enjoys the cohesive Lowcountry community as everybody knows everybody and he has found loyalty in many of his long term relationships in the homebuilding industry.

Taylor’s Quality Landscape Supply and Nursery Donating Towards Village Park Homes’ St. Jude Dream Home

Taylor’s Quality Landscape Supply and Nursery can be recognized for delivering quality products and services with an experience that invests in its families and community. This Lowcountry landscape supply company would like to be known as the “I can’t miss it experience” and Village Park Homes has found their services towards creating a St. Jude Dream Home in Richmond Hill, GA to be just that! It has been a pleasure to have Taylor’s Quality Landscape Supply and Nursery as an industry partner in this mission to cure pediatric cancer!

In 2004, owner, Gerrick Taylor, started his business, selling pine straw to his community members in Columbia, South Carolina. He found great success and expanded by selling mulch, sand, gravel, and rock. Taylor moved to Bluffton, South Carolina with his bride and started “Taylor’s Bluffton”. He found there to be a gap in the market in the Pooler, Georgia area and in Beaufort, South Carolina. That being said, they are based out of Bluffton, South Carolina and have two satellite locations in these towns.

Jake Morton, the Growth Development Coordinator, decided to work for Taylor as they both have similar missions in business and in life. They aim to serve their community and the Lord. In a recent interview, Morton notes that he has a servanthood mentality. “In order to be first, you have to lead by example and that has always been my mentality. I love putting other people first.” Morton believes that Taylor’s Quality Landscape Supply and Nursery has not faced many difficulties in their tenure as Taylor does a great job at maintaining an all-star team which is often called “Taylor’s Team” comprised of about twenty men and women who work at all three locations.

In building the St. Jude Dream Home in Richmond Hill, Georgia, Taylor’s Quality Landscape Supply and Nursery provided all of the pine straw, trees, plants, and shrubs in order to truly beautify the exterior design of the home. Morton, as one who seems to truly love serving his community, comments on donating these supplies, “it is a small price to pay for a great cause.”

Village Park Homes is extremely grateful to have this wonderful company on our mission to build a St. Jude Dream Home; all the proceeds from this raffle contest to win the home go directly towards funding the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

In a recent interview, Harvey said that he chose to be a part of this mission because he attended the presentation last fall where Village Park Homes talked about the importance of the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the great success that comes from building a St. Jude Dream Home as all profits from the raffle contest to win the home go directly towards the organization. Without a doubt, he wanted to be alongside Village Park Homes in this mission.

Premier Exteriors LLC can be known for its mission, which is to empower people “to perform and provide unmatched quality and reliable service.” Harvey attests that what may separate his and his partner’s company from its competitors is its management team. They are often known for having a great process in estimating pricing and applying this method towards the final exterior design process. Along with that, Harvey who received a business degree specializing in marketing, swears by his six core values: fiscal responsibility, intentional relationships, live by principle, quality, accountability, and schedule.

St. Jude’s ‘ABCs of Cancer’ Posters On Sale!

As the Southeastern builder for the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway, Village Park Homes is extremely excited to be a part of this mission to further the research to cure pediatric cancer. Since last fall, so many people have dedicated time and support towards building the home and in one month, tours of this home will officially begin.

That being said, a tradition of St. Judes Dream Home Giveaway is to have the patients draw and design an alphabet letter that stands for something they have personally experienced, “H” stands for Hope or “W” stands for Wishing. At the bottom of this matted and framed 8×10 poster, St. Judes includes the name of the patient who drew the letter along with their diagnosis.

This project is symbolic towards all that is the children of St. Judes and their experience as patients. In essence, this is the epitome of what we are all working so hard towards in helping these children get better; maximizing research opportunities and the amount of children who can be admitted in this hospital. This particular project creates empathy for the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway.

Village Park Homes is hoping to have as many of these framed, 8×10 posters displayed in May while the home is open for tours. As there are 26 letters in the alphabet, there are 26 posters being sold, each costing $250. We have already sold the H, O, P, and E so now there are only 22 posters left to purchase.

Please consider purchasing a poster! It would hang in the home for 7 weeks and then afterwards would be yours to keep! If you are not looking to buy a ticket to win the home then this is a great way to donate towards this foundation.

Island Improvements Donating Towards the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway!

Phil Nold, Director of Sales and Design at Island Improvements, opened up about their involvement in helping Village Park Homes build the St. Jude Dream Home in Richmond Hill, Georgia saying “other than the fact that it is the greatest cause on earth, we are business partners with Village Park Homes and we want to do our part with helping in any way that we can along with helping sick children get better.” But Nold is also a cancer survivor and knows that any time you are trying to do research for cancer, especially with children, it is a great cause.

Island Improvements has been running for about twenty-three years now with its co-owners, Marc and Michelle Bergman (Michelle often called Mimi). Beginning solely as a maintenance company, the Bergman’s later added a construction division. Phil Nold joined their team 14 years ago and around this time Island Improvements expanded onto the focus of kitchen, bath, and cabinetry design. Outdoor Services Donating Towards Building the St. Jude Dream Home!

Anthony Seminara, the owner of Outdoor Services, believes that everyone should try hard to give back to people who have a lot less. Even though he works extremely hard everyday, this will not restrain him from giving back to a great cause, finding a cure for pediatric cancer.

Seminara grew up in New Jersey and worked for his father’s business, AA Landscape Design. He helped support his family by rushing home after high school hockey games to do landscape and concrete work with his father. At twenty-two years old, he moved to Bluffton, South Carolina with his wife and quickly started his own landscaping company, Outdoor Services. In comparing his family’s business with his own, he states that AA Landscape Design was a single faceted company that used shovels to accomplish jobs and with Outdoor Services, he allows himself and his employees to use twenty-one pieces of machinery equipment.

Outdoor Services’ motto is “Do what you say you are going to do. No excuses, get it done.”

When the recession hit, he went from having eighteen employees to three employees. He remained strong during this time, making sure that all of his workers were able to find jobs. He maintained his brand while also finding a second job. His love for his field is apparent, as he has only grown throughout the years in landscaping. Outdoor Services now provides work in tree removal, brickwork, landscaping & hardscaping, pool construction, irrigation systems, and concrete & masonry. Specifically, Seminara’s business will be doing the concrete foundation, driveways, walkways, and patio for the St. Jude Dream Home in Richmond Hill, Georgia. Village Park Homes is extremely grateful to have Outdoor Services as an industry partner on this mission to build a St. Jude Dream Home!

Fireside Hearth and Home to Donate Two Fireplaces

Brandon Smith, Coastal Carolina’s Regional Account Manager at Fireside Hearth and Home, is excited to donate two fireplaces to Village Park Homes’ St. Jude Dream Home because he can give back to a worthy cause and will be working alongside community members and industry partners who are all wanting to achieve the same goal. Fireside Hearth and Home, as a publicly owned company, can be limited on how many of these opportunities they can participate in and Smith says it is an honor to be a part of this project!

The fireplace is Smith’s favorite part of the household, as he believes it to be the number one focal point in your home. “There is a relaxing nature of it…it is the heart of the home.” Along with spending the evenings and holidays with family by the fireplace, he laughingly states that everyone even watches the super bowl around it! Smith personally enjoys the value a fireplace adds to a family unit because it aligns with attitude.

With his background in construction, Smith said that working for Fireside Hearth and Home seemed like a great next step in his career because there were countless opportunities available for him. He began in Charlotte, their central location in the southeast region, and now works in Charleston, SC. Smith appreciates the friendly, southern charm of the south and with everyone’s great attitude it makes working together much more enjoyable.

Fireside Hearth and Home prides themselves on offering a solution, not just a product. Smith comments that because in homebuilding there is often a struggle with keeping relationships with customers after a home closes, he finds their Service Department to be extremely helpful.

There will be two fireplaces installed in Richmond Hill’s St. Jude Dream Home, one in the Living Room and one in the Bonus Room. The fireplace in the Living Room will be a Heatilator wood-burning fireplace that is recognized as the number 1 Builder Brand out on the market, it is backed by Limited Lifetime Warranty, and it will include a newly designed mantel and popular stone surround. The second fireplace in the Bonus Room will be a new Allusion Linear electric fireplace, which has been a recent design trend.

Village Park Homes is extremely grateful for the donations and excellent service from Fireside Hearth and Home! For anyone interested in viewing our St. Jude Dream Home, tours begin May 2018, and tickets to win this home go on sale April 10, 2018!

Timeless Interiors: Designing For the Kids of St. Jude

As the 2018 St. Jude Dream Home construction progresses, the time draws nearer for the project to come together for the May 11th reveal to the public. From interior selections at pre- construction to staging direction and color palette, local design firm Timeless Interiors has been integral in cultivating an overall vision. Accomplished designer and owner of Timeless Interiors, Holly Dixon, simply states that she is donating towards designing the St. Jude Dream Home because it is the “cause of all causes…it is the right thing to do.” Dixon is happy to have the opportunity to help Village Park Homes during this undertaking.

Dixon takes pride in owning a company that understands how good designs are a fad and how great designs are timeless. Along with that, she says “a home is a reflection of the person who lives in it.” Since 2000, Dixon has become an established business owner who continuously stays true to herself.

From a humble beginning working with modest resources out of a traveling trailer to building an expansive retail location and local design powerhouse, Dixon has found an immense amount of success in the past 18 years. Her first business, ‘Mobile Showroom’, allowed her to conduct design consultations with homeowners at their location and this human connection helped her future customers believe in her vision. As her business grew, the trailer was no longer enough and she knew she needed much more space. Dixon moved to a large warehouse space on Hwy. 278 to manage the growth and then, as the growth continued, she built the spacious Timeless Interiors retail location at 4380 Bluffton Parkway in Bluffton, SC.

Key to her retail success is Dixon’s eye for unique products at a range of price points, making good design attainable at various investment levels. She prides herself on truly listening to her client’s inner voice during the design process and finds that family heirlooms have great sentimental value. Dixon knows how to take these statement pieces and help them flow in a modern looking space.

Dixon has worked with a wide range of celebrities as well as with HGTV on various design projects. Dixon sets the bar high for herself and at any given time can be managing 20 to 30 plus staging projects. With that being said, she could not do her job without an incredible group of dedicated employees. The Timeless Interiors team member working closely with Village Park Homes on the design selections and staging process for the St. Jude Dream Home in Richmond Hill, GA is experienced designer, Morgan Allen. When asked about the design approach for the home Allen says:

“The concept for the homes’ design was inspired by the kids from St. Jude. They are bright, intelligent, and colorful. Like St. Jude itself, I wanted to bring the feeling of hope and richness of spirit to the house by using deep jewel tones mixed with an earthy neutral base so the house is soulful without being heavy. The kids influence is all throughout the home’s design and full of their inspiration.”

Dixon is grateful for the generosity of so many of her valued vendors such as Leather Craft for donating custom designs for the project. Dixon and the entire Timeless Interiors team are certainly looking forward to seeing people’s faces as they walk through the home. Dixon’s hope is that they will appreciate design expertise and the home itself will serve as an inspiration in their own design projects.

Phillips Electrical Company Contributing to Village Park Homes’ Construction of the St. Jude Dream Home

In describing his involvement in Village Park Homes’ mission to build the St. Jude Dream Home, Mark Phillips, owner of Phillips Electrical Co., says that this is an opportunity to give back to both a homebuilding company that has done so much for him over the years and to a worthy cause!

Mark Phillips describes himself as a hands on guy as he became involved in home building at the age of 18. Phillips actually built his first home, alongside his father! Upon attending college, where he studied Wildlife Management, Mark was offered jobs in maintenance and electrical work. Before moving to Hilton Head Island, Phillips lived in Virginia. After his move to the Lowcountry, Mark worked for electrical companies and said that since 1997, there have been a lot of opportunities as an electrician and as the owner of an electrical company. Mark has had his electrical license since 1982 and has run his company ‘Phillips Electrical Company’ since February of 2000.

As an industry partner for Village Park Homes’ mission to build a St. Jude Dream Home, Phillips says it was a “no brainer” because Phillips has a loyalty to his local business partners. Mark Phillips is honored to work alongside Village Park Homes and we are extremely happy to have him on board during this process that began in the fall of 2017!

According to Phillips, Cregger Lighting is donating 75% of the materials. Other partner donations include panel boxes, switch gears, and breakers. Phillips is responsible for the installations of all of these processes.

Phillips has put in a lot of effort towards the construction of the St. Jude Dream Home in Richmond Hill, GA; he is working towards making the electrical system the absolute best it can be and he knows Village Park Homes’ industry partners are currently working towards this goal as well. He is excited to see the final product when the house opens for tours in May.

May River Granite Donating Towards Village Park Homes’ Construction of the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway

May River Granite, located on 40 Persimmon Street in Bluffton, is made up of seasoned experts and business owners with over 60 years of experience that share a dream to bring high quality granite to the Lowcountry. Owners Jeff Furman and Karen Kelley are joined by a team of 10 professionals in their industry. Furman maintains that May River Granite may not be the largest company in the area selling natural stone surfaces, but their ultimate goal is to be the best…to always show up on time and to deliver high quality pieces. Furman and Kelley have been running May River Granite for a little over a year now and Furman explains that he knows how quickly the Lowcountry is expanding and he is happy to be a part of the process.

Entrepreneur, Jeff Furman, thinks that his love for stone may have begun as a child. While hiking he was always interested in rocks, collecting them and polishing them along with going to stores and looking at the variety of stones being sold. “I’ve always had a natural affection for stone. I used to buy them.” Prior to owning May River Granite, Furman manufactured electric hand dryers, but sold his company to move to the Lowcountry to live closer to his wife’s family. Furman enjoys running a business in the Lowcountry and says that this community has offered him customers and contractors who are now personal friends.

May River Granite is donating the slab for the Kitchen Waterfall Island to Village Park Homes’ St. Jude Dream Home which is being constructed in Richmond Hill, GA. Furman thinks that customers purchase a Waterfall Island Kitchen for its unique style and for the feel of the unit. Jeff Furman and his wife Karen Kelley chose to be a part of the Village Park Homes’ mission to build a St. Jude Dream Home because they would like to stay involved with everyone who is donating time and materials to this project. Jeff remembers watching Danny Thomas, the founder of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, doing comedy on television while he was growing up. Furman truly appreciates how there is no other hospital like St. Jude. They accept every child who walks through their doors and gives them everlasting hope. Furman believes that when you bring happiness to others, you discover that happiness comes back to you. Village Park Homes is extremely happy to have May River Granite as an industry partner.
